Things you'll love about our Golf Club

If you need a reason to join, here are 9 to pick from....

Things you’ll love about The Bishopbriggs Golf Club

1: Escape to the country … without leaving the town

Roe deer wander across our fairways; dozens of species of birds make their homes in our woodlands, and our views to the Campsie Fells are second to none – yet our easy walking parkland course is just a stone’s throw from the heart of Bishopbriggs, perfect for summer weekends and evenings.

2: Play your game, your way

Whether you relish the challenge of competitive golf or you prefer a social round with friends, as a member of BGC you’re free to play when you like, as often as you like, and how you like. Play a full round or, if you’re short on time, play 10 holes or even a short loop of just 5. As a member you’ll enjoy unlimited access to our course and two practice areas so you can play the kind of golf you love, whenever the mood takes you: just book online via our website.

3: Get fit outdoors

Take in a full round of golf on our landscaped course, and you’ll complete your recommended daily 10,000 steps by the time you reach hole 14. In a full game on our 18-hole course, you’ll walk 5 miles, burn up to 1500 calories, and enjoy all the benefits of a workout at the gym.

4: Join at Bishopbriggs. Play everywhere …

We’re a Scottish Golf affiliated club, meaning our members get up to 50% discount on green fees at some of Scotland’s best courses including Muirfield, Gleneagles and Castle Stuart. What’s more, we’ve made reciprocal arrangements with 19 local courses so you can explore the local area at Members’ Guest Rates. Travelling further afield? We’re also part of the 1906 Club of private UK golf clubs founded in 1906, all of which offer courtesy visits for our members.

5: Accessible prices and flexible payments

Our year-round low costs and flexible payment options are designed help you spread the cost of membership throughout the year. Full membership costs less than £15/week over the course of the year, with discounted rates available for 5 day membership; under 26s, families, children and social members. Whatever your circumstances, we’ve got a membership package to suit you – and all membership options come with 20%discounts at the bar, and free function room bookings for your social occasions.

6: Bring out the best in your game

Our easy-walking course with only a few blind shots and no tricks, so you’re sure to play your best at Bishopbriggs. Working to reduce your handicap? As a member, you’ll have the chance to compete in club and Open competitions throughout the year as you work towards your target level, and we’ve got a roving PGA professional on site for all your coaching needs.

7: A warm family welcome

You’re never too young or too old to be welcome at BGC. We’ve got high chairs for our littlest visitors and a 9-hole mini-course for family fun on the course, as well as an active junior section as part of the national Club Golf programme. Kids’ summer coaching programmes are on offer, with social membership available to parents, and members’ children are always welcome at our annual Christmas party.

8: Meet old friends … or make new ones

Founded by friends for friends, we’re a club with community spirit at its heart. Our regular social events – think Italian nights, seasonal parties and more – are always great fun, and the club house is a great place to meet new friends or even build new business networks. Senior members enjoy an informal social round twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, which new members are welcome to join. Visitors are always welcome at BGC, and with preferential green fees of just £10 for members’ guests, we

Make it easy for you to share your club with your own friends and colleagues.

9: Compete at your level: at home or away

A bit of friendly competition can do wonders for your game, and as a member, you can join in the fun every week of the season if you wish to do so. Within the club, we usually offer opportunities to play in two competitions for men and two for women, throughout the season; a host of knockouts, opens, pairs and scrambles are also available to suit all age groups. Further afield, you’ll enjoy chances to represent your club locally, regionally or even nationally as a senior or junior player, and full members with a handicap will receive a Scottish Golf Membership Card, affording a range of national benefits such as

Exclusive competitions, partner offers and a Handicap App.
